João Donato brought his classic bossa flavor to our Jazz Está Morto concert series. We are honored to host the man who Antonio Carlos Jobim called a genius, and who João Gilberto claims invented the bossa nova beat.

Azymuth kicked off our Jazz Está Morto concert series giving us more than we could have ever imagined.

Last month, Adrian Younge, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and ArtDontSleep took a journey to Brazil. We sat in the homes of Arthur Verocai, Azymuth, João Donato and Marcos Valle. To believe that those humble meetings have turned into this epic series is a dream come true.

Closing out Black History Month with the living legend Roy Ayers was the best way to celebrate the culture, and we couldn’t do it with just one show, but four.

So many legends under one roof at the part 2 of our Black History Month #JAZZISDEAD concert series. The sax legend, Gary Bartz, has proven that even over the years, his performances come effortlessly.

Part 1 of the Black History Month series was a success as we honored the living legend Brian Jackson, and many thanks to ArtDontSleep for putting this all together.

Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge worked with us to choose some of their favorite soul jazz masters to create a special month of programming to celebrate Black History Month.
